Chris was, above all, a woman who lived a life of service. As a wife and mother of two, a critical care nurse and a volunteer for charities in her community, Chris was passionate about putting the needs of others first.
Chris’ life ended tragically when she was killed in an automobile accident near Durango, Colorado in June of 2013.
The SandAngel Foundation was established the following year to honor Chris and keep her legacy of service for others alive. Chris grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended St. Charles Elementary School in Carthage, graduating from Our Lady of Angels High School in 1972. Chris went on to pursue a degree in nursing, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1983. She served for 34 years as a RN Critical Care Nurse at what is now the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Chris is remembered both for her professional expertise as well as her compassionate concern for her patients.
