SandAngel Nursing Scholarships

The SandAngel Foundation, founded in memory of Chris Back (1954-2013), provides needs based scholarships to students pursuing a degree in nursing.   Chris was a critical care nurse and passionate about her field.

We partnered with University of Cincinnati in 2019 and 2020 to fund over $20,000 worth of scholarships for four deserving nursing students who had significant unmet financial need.

Our ongoing goals are the fund nursing scholarships each year, while also growing a significant endowment to fund scholarships in perpetuity.

To that end, the SandAngel Foundation has established the Chris Back Memorial Endowment Fund, and as part of our annual activities, we will fund-raise to grow this endowment over the next several years.

This endowment fund was valued at over $50,000 at the end of 2023!
